The Jammu and Kashmir Government has its own reservation act which was passed by state legislature in year 2006 for implementing SRO 294 of 2005 issued by Social Welfare Department in the year 2005 (Document attached). Moreover the Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir vide circular number: HE-Coll/Univ -/2019 Dated 31-01-2019 again issued the guidelines to the institutions governed by UGC norms for effectively implementing SRO-294 of 2005 (Document attached). In the said SRO, there was no regulation regarding the fixation of seats to be marked for reserved category students in the UG colleges and all the eligible students especially belonging to reserved categories are given admission without any restrictions. The duly signed document related to year-wise enrolment of the students belonging to different categories viz., ST, SC, OBC, PHC etc is also attached herewith.
